P & R Hydraulics is attending LAMMA 2016.

For those that don't know, LAMMA is the UK's largest farm machinery, equipment and agricultural services show. Now in its 35th year, and held in January each year with over 900 exhibitors, LAMMA is located at the East of England Showground, Peterborough, PE1 6XE, is free to attend and regularly attracts over 40,000 farmers from around the country and overseas. For anyone seeking ideas on how to make improvements to their agricultural equipment fleet, it's certainly the place to be on 20th to 21st of January.

We will be co-exhibiting with one of our premium partners, Hy-Pro, in order to showcase their range of hydraulic valve products and our valve maintenance services.  James Roberts, their Technical Sales Manager will be with us for both days and available to discuss their products.

In addition, we will also be promoting the very latest hydraulic motors, pumps and valves from Parker Hannifin, Turolla and Danfoss. With such a wide range of products available, together with our long demonstrable track record of experience, P & R have got the agricultural sector covered!

Axial Piston Motors – fixed displacement, bent axis

The F1 is a fixed displacement bent axis, truck hydraulic motor that can tolerate low temperature and high temperature shocks, and high acceleration.

F11/12 is the high performance bent axis, fixed displacement heavy-duty motor series.  They can be used in numerous applications in both open and closed loop circuits.  The 40° angle between shaft and cylinder barrel allows for a very compact, lightweight motor.  The simple straightforward design with very few moving parts, make them very reliable motors.

Coloured cable ties

Ingenious use for coloured cable ties!

A 10 bank spool valve was brought into our workshop for inspection. Prior to removing the valve coloured cable ties were fitted to all inlets and outlets of the valve and machinery. The colour cable ties will greatly assist with the refitting of the valve.

P & R Hydraulics offers a full product repair service. Our on-site workshop and maintenance facility includes a test rig which allows our experienced team to rapidly diagnose any product faults and failures.

Our experienced team is able to:
  • inspect, repair and test hydraulic motors, pumps and valves 
  • modify existing units to suit customer requirements 
  • custom build hydraulic pumps, motors and directional control valves, both manual and proportional, using products from Danfoss (Sauer Danfoss) , Parker Hannifin (Commercial and Kontak) and Hy-Pro. 
Upon return, all repaired and serviced units leave the premises tested and ready for customer use. New products can be supplied if the original unit cannot be repaired.

The Italian Job

Turolla Distributor (UK)It’s not JUST who you know, it’s how WELL you know them that really counts.

P & R Hydraulics were invited to attend the formal opening of the new Turolla manufacturing plant at Bologna, Italy, last month. We were guests of Trevor Pritchard, Sales Development Manager, because we have a very close working relationship with Turolla, have demonstrable expert knowledge of Turolla hydraulic products, plus additional specialist knowledge of hydraulic systems.

So, of course we were pleased to be invited, but was it just an excuse to go mad on delicious pizza and pasta? Absolutely not!

We were fascinated to watch an extremely detailed demonstration of their new ‘Sshark’ hydraulic pump range. Why the “Shhhh…”? Because the ‘Sshark’ is the first of a new generation of hydraulic pumps developed by Turolla with much reduced noise output, over 15dB in the case of their flagship product, the ‘Shhark Continuum’, making it perfect for any application where particular attention to the local environment is required.

Hy-Pro V5 spool valve with rotary lever

A customer needed a Hy-Pro V5 spool valve with a rotary lever and as it is for a maritime application it has been assembled using a marinised worksection (corrosion resistant).

The Hy-Pro V5 rotary lever has been developed to enable the operator precise control of motors and cylinders.  The lever swings through an 130° arc and works by means of a scroll which converts the rotary action of the lever into axial movement of the spool.  The centring mechanism has a friction detent feature which positively holds the spool in neutral then maintains the selected position.

Used extensively in the forestry and fishing industry to control the speed of conveyors and winches.

Turolla Aluminium Gear Pump - Group 3

SEP3NN

The SEP3NN gear pump is available in a limited displacement range from 22.0 to 44.1 cm3/rev (from 1.34 to 2.69 in3/rev).  They are suitable for applications where the pressure is lower than 210 bar (3045 psi).  The SEP3NN range is released into SAE and European configurations.  The overall length is reduced by 12mm (0.47 in) in respect of the SNP3NN.

SNP3NN

The SNP3NN is available in the full displacement range from 22.0 to 88.2 cm3/rev (from 1.34 to 5.38 in3/rev), and with higher pressure ratings than the SEP3NN.  This is due to the pressure balance on each side of the gears obtained with pressure-balance plates made in antifriction alloy that contribute to high volumetric efficiency and maximum sealing as well.
